In 1921,the Shanghai Zengmao Hardware Factory, the predecessor of the Shanghai Valve Factory, was established.
In the 1960s, the Shanghai Zengmao Hardware Factory merged with more than 50 factories to establish Shanghai Valve Factory.
In the 1970s, SVF undertook the valve project for China's early aerospace equipment manufacturing such as the Dongfanghong satellite valve project.
In the 1980s, SVF was awarded the China National Quality Award.
In the 1990s, SVF completed the valve project for China's first self-developed nuclear power plant (Qinshan Nuclear Power Station).
SVF’s nuclear grade valves were exported to Pakistan.In 2006, SVF carried out market-oriented restructuring and established Shanghai Valve Factory Co., Ltd.
In 2010, SVF participated as a core member in the National Energy Administration’s ultra (super) critical valves R&D project.
In 2015, SVF carried out joint-stock reform and officially changed its name to Shanghai Valve Factory Co., Ltd.
In 2017, SVF took the lead in undertaking a number of valve projects under China’s national science and technology major projects.
In 2021, SVF held the centenary celebration and was selected into Xinhua News Agency's National Brand Project and the Specialized and Sophisticated SME supported by the central government.
Received the Outstanding Innovation Achievement Award at the 11th APEC Small and Medium sized Enterprise Technology Exchange and Exhibition.
In 2023, SVF's Zhejiang factory was officially put into operation and was selected into Shanghai Smart Factory.
In 2024, the upgraded SVF Testing & Research Center obtained the CNAS Laboratory Accreditation Certificate.
